Using alternative and ecologically correct materials has been consolidating in the market as more than a trend; it is a necessity. Sustainability concerns and the impact of production and disposable materials on the environment is a central question for any business. Tramontina is following this development, offering products that combine sustainability and elegance for food establishments. Get to know soapstoneSteatite, the name of the rock we know as soapstone, is primarily composed of talc. Because of this, this material is extremely soft to the touch, with an oily texture, similar to soap, from which its popular name is derived. The high density of this material, which results in low porosity, makes soapstone practically impermeable: it is not affected by acidic or alkaline substances, being resistant to stains and impermeable to liquids. However, its greatest advantage is cooking related: it is capable of retaining and distributing heat. Soapstone utensils are an interesting investment for the restaurant sector: they are naturally nonstick, making cleaning easy, and are thermally inert, maintaining the temperature of food when serving. Roasting pans made of this material retain heat for up to two hours, making them ideal for pizzerias, for example. Its application in dishes and bowls astounds with its beauty and can elevate the plating of haute cuisine to an even higher level. For wine bars and other establishments that stand out for their drink offerings and charcuterie boards, soapstone boards add a beautiful detail to the presentation. Explore our complete line of soapstone products on our website – give elegance to your business’s customers without forgetting about sustainability.

For knead and grind spices the Tramontina Design Collection makes a reinterpretation of the classic mortar and pestle with this exclusive kit from the Organic line. The mortar brings the sobriety and lightness of the Teak wood, while the mortar exposes the durability and the unmistakable textures of the soapstone. Details that make all the difference in the kitchen.
ATTENTION: Image for illustrative purposes only. As it is a handmade product, variations in tone and appearance may occur.

1. Functional and beautiful: the kit is easy to use and matches the most modern kitchens.
