Passion fruit is one of the most well-known tropical fruits in Brazil, making it an excellent option for farmers seeking productivity in small areas. However, cultivating this plant requires the right technique and tools; therefore, we have prepared this guide to help you from planting to harvesting<h3>1st Stage: Soil Preparation and Planting</h3>The passion fruit vine needs a sunny location and soil with good drainage.&nbsp;Dig spaces of approximately 40x40x40 cm. For this job, a <a href="https://global.tramontina.com/en/p/round-mouth-shovel-with-120-cm-wood-handle-77460534" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">sturdy shovel</a> and a <a href="https://global.tramontina.com/en/p/tramontina-metallic-post-hole-digger-with-120-cm-wood-handles-and-plastic-shock-absorber-77564503" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">post hole digger</a> are your best allies to ensure efficiency.&nbsp; Fertilize the soil with organic matter and limestone at least 30 to 60 days before planting.&nbsp; Maintain a spacing of 2.5 to 3 meters between plants and between rows to ensure the necessary aeration.<h3>2nd Stage: The Support Structure</h3>The passion fruit vine is a climbing plant, so it needs support. The trellis, made with wires stretched between posts 1.5 to 2 meters high, is the ideal structure to organize the plant's growth.<h3>3rd Stage: Pruning</h3>To focus the plant's energy on fruit production, perform precise pruning.&nbsp;Initially, let only the main stem grow.&nbsp; When it reaches the wire, cut the tip to stimulate secondary branches, which will grow sideways along the wire.&nbsp; Always use <a href="https://global.tramontina.com/en/p/tramontinas-professional-pruners-with-metal-blades-and-plastic-coated-handles-78304511" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">sharp pruning shears</a> to avoid "chewing" the branch, which prevents diseases and helps the plant heal quickly. When the secondary branches reach halfway between the plants, prune them to stimulate the tertiary branches — this is where the flowers and fruits will grow. After the harvest, perform a cleaning pruning on the secondary branches (leaving about 10 to 30 cm). This ensures that the next cycle will be even more productive.<h3>4th Stage: Harvesting and Transportation</h3>The passion fruit is ready when it falls naturally or when the skin is yellowish and slightly wrinkled.&nbsp;To transport the harvest or carry fertilizer to the holes, using a <a href="https://global.tramontina.com/en/p/tramontina-wheelbarrow-with-200-l-plastic-extra-deep-orange-bucket-wood-handles-and-two-wheels-with-solid-tires-77721221" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">wheelbarrow</a> is essential to make your daily routine lighter and more productive.Final Tip: Remember that manual pollination (done with your fingers by transferring pollen from one plant's flower to another's) can greatly increase your productivity, as the passion fruit needs this "exchange" between different plants to bear fruit
