The long history of the brand, now more than 110 years old, combined with the strength and scope of its product mix allow consumers to remember it as the one that accompanied grandparents, parents and today is also part of the daily lives of young people with even more intensity, being present in all stages of life.
The secret to maintaining this essence is directly linked to the purpose of the brand: Growing to transform lives. Creating bonds to evolve together. It is the relationship with people – employees, community, consumers, customers and partners – that keeps alive Tramontina’s centenary vocation of enchanting and inspiring with simple gestures. This sense of community is reflected in several brand actions, such as partnerships with the Centro Educativo Crescer (CEC), in Carlos Barbosa/RS and the Centro de Formação Divina Providência, in Encruzilhada do Sul/RS, which support the education of children in a situation of social vulnerability in the after/before school hours. It is also reflected in global initiatives, such as through the partnership with the Dr. Sonrisas Foundation, in Mexico, and actions with the Voice of the Oceans project, in the United States. In addition, the brand counts on Centro Educacional Ivo Tramontina (CEIT), in Carlos Barbosa/RS, which offers training and leisure and well-being spaces for employees and their families.
Another crucial step was through the partnership with Gerando Falcões, which made Gastronomy courses possible for residents of the municipality of Ferraz de Vasconcelos, in addition to sponsoring two non-governmental organizations in Pernambuco and Pará – Movimento Inspire, in Olinda (PE), and Instituto Edson Royer, in Novo Progresso (PA). As a result, the brand began to collaborate not only economically, but also through an internally managed volunteer program, in the two states where it is already present and has a positive impact through its production units.
These actions have a direct impact on the work of more than 10,000 employees in 9 manufacturing units, 8 manufacturing units in Brazil and 23 units abroad to deliver around 22,000 items including kitchen utensils and equipment, electrical appliances, tools for agriculture, gardening, industrial and automotive maintenance, civil construction, electrical materials, wooden or plastic furniture, riding equipment, in addition to porcelain tableware for all the domestic market and over 120 countries.
For an even closer experience to the consumer, in addition to the factories spread across Rio Grande do Sul, Belém/PA, Recife/PE and Moreno/PE, the brand has more than 30 T store concept stores around the world, in addition to the T factory stores, in Carlos Barbosa (RS) and Farroupilha (RS). It also operates through Distribution Centers, which operate logistics and make Tramontina products arrive quickly across the board, in addition to bringing factories and retailers closer together through showrooms.
Throughout its growth, Tramontina has sought to further evolve the business by adding sustainability as one of the factors in the innovation process. To do so, it has been investing in technology and human knowledge to develop a more eco-efficient and circular operation in the use of natural resources, raw materials, inputs and materials, reducing the pressure on the environment.
Sustainability has always been a critical issue for the brand and it became even more effective with the creation of the ESG Committee and the Tramontina Transforma project, which unites all the company’s sustainability fronts. A company’s commitment to the environment and people involves a systemic approach and integrated actions, ranging from the choice of suppliers and responsible production methods to its sense of community and working together with organizations committed to building a better world. Tramontina has in its core the concern of contributing to the preservation of natural resources and people’s quality of life, with a focus on doing things beautifully, right and well done.
We understand the importance of continuing to invest in environmentally correct solutions in accordance with ESG criteria far beyond the obligation. Sustainable practices have been part of the brand’s history since its creation and have gained strength and scale over time.
Since 1990, the organization counts on Effluent Treatment Stations (ETEs) to treat water used in different activities, in addition to protecting the sources of fresh and potable water that supply communities and support the natural cycle of life. In some factories, the water reuse rate reaches 100%, and in others the water supply is made only with rainwater.
These and other actions, such as the reverse logistics project –Your Environment More Conscientious– which offers collection points for used products in official brand stores throughout Brazil, are under the responsibility of the Environmental Committee, and more recently, the ESG Committee, who lead the Tramontina Transforma project, bringing together all the company’s sustainability fronts, from good practices for improving production processes to the end of the chain. The development of products and packages, supplier management, the production process and post-consumption are topics of analysis, controls, actions and daily practices in environmental areas within the reality of each business unit.
Today, Tramontina maintains 2,051.62 hectares of preserved areas, classified as Permanent Preservation Areas (APPs), Legal Reserves and Preserved Native Forests. In addition, it counts on 3.3 thousand hectares of planted areas – called production forests, with a solid and renewable base, to supply wood for use in factories. The company invests in clean technologies to reduce and control the generation of solid waste, effluents and atmospheric emissions.
In addition to observing environmental aspects, taking care of people through education and actions to promote healthier nutrition is part of the brand’s purpose. Growing to transform lives. Creating bonds to evolve together. These are the company’s guiding principles over the coming years.
To this end, Tramontina has been working together with social organizations from four Brazilian states (RS, SP, PE and PA) to contribute to the education of children and teenagers and the professional qualification of men and women.
