Continuing its production internationalization process, Tramontina inaugurates a new plant outside Brazil, this time located in Mexico. In operation since late 2025 in Lerma, State of Mexico, the manufacturing plant will be a subsidiary 100% operated by Tramontina SA Cutelaria, the group's first unit located at the brand's birthplace in Carlos Barbosa/RS. At this initial stage, it will focus exclusively on the production of aluminum frying pans with non-stick coating.<img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/prd-assets-portal.tramontina.com/cedis_fabrica_3_3_275a7a45c8.jpeg" alt="" width="300px">The new Tramontina plant outside Brazil is located in Lerma, State of Mexico. (Disclosure/Tramontina)The Tramontina Cookware Norteamérica plant marks a new phase in the brand's global strategy, reinforcing its presence in key markets and optimizing service logistics. Mexico was chosen both for its consumption potential and its strategic location, which allows for fast and efficient supply to Central American and United States markets. Initially, for a short period, production will be destined exclusively for the Mexican market.“Mexico is already the second-largest export market for Tramontina in the kitchenware segment, both in volume and revenue. The local consumers' acceptance of our brand, recognized for quality and service, gave us the confidence for this new step,” says Jandir Brock, Corporate Director of Tramontina.The unit will have a production capacity of up to 100,000 pieces per month. The new plant will integrate into Tramontina's existing structure in Mexico since 1997, which has a consolidated commercial and distribution operation with more than 200 employees. In this first phase, there will be direct interaction between various administrative areas—such as Human Resources, Tax, and Finance—operating jointly.The operation will feature the same level of automation and innovation present in the group's other plants in Brazil. “In addition to contributing to local industrial development, the new unit reaffirms Tramontina's commitment to sustainable practices and the use of cutting-edge technologies,” comments Marcos Grespan, Commercial Director of Tramontina.Tramontina Consolidates Internationalization with Strategic FactoriesTramontina's first factory outside Brazil was announced in February 2025, when the brand joined forces with the Indian company Aequs to present its first Joint Venture (JV). The unit is located in Hubballi, Karnataka state, and produces pans and other kitchen utensils for customers in India and abroad.With this manufacturing plant in Mexico, Tramontina reinforces its long-term vision focused on global expansion, betting on proximity to consumer markets and logistical response agility as competitive advantages. The Mexican unit represents not only a strategic step in Latin America but also a model for future expansions in other regions.Currently present in over 120 countries worldwide, the century-old Brazilian brand now totals 25 operational units abroad, including one factory, one subsidiary, 19 distribution centers, three regional sales offices, and one quality and services office.Expansion of Presence in Argentina with Own Office in Buenos AiresWith over 50 years in the Argentine market, Tramontina also announces its own structure in Buenos Aires, with the opening of a Regional Sales Office (RSO) and a showroom—serving as a point of contact between the Argentine market and the group's manufacturing units. The country, which has been importing brand products since 1970, is one of the most important markets for Tramontina outside Brazil. The structure will allow for greater operational agility, strengthening relationships with distributors, and a closer, more efficient service.Although the initial focus of expansion is on high-recognition lines, such as kitchenware and home goods, the proposal is to explore the potential of other categories not yet present in the country. Today, the brand's robust portfolio exceeds 22,000 items, including tools for agriculture, gardening, porcelain, wood and plastic furniture, electrical materials, and utility vehicles.“Local presence will allow us to integrate our structures with the specificities of the Argentine market, adapting launches to consumer habits and preferences. We want to consolidate our presence and broaden our relationship with the Argentine public, offering complete solutions in various segments, from household utensils to tools, gardening, furniture, and professional equipment,” states Jandir Brock, Corporate Director of Tramontina.
