The sensorial experience of preparing and tasting kernels

Warm popcorn, with melted butter dripping on top, who can resist? We here don’t even try! That’s why we brought you a recipe that is simply a blast!

First, a curiosity: do you know why popcorn explodes? The internal part of the corn contains water, which expands when it receives intense heat and ends up causing the shell to expand with it. And those kernels that don’t pop may have holes or cracks, allowing water steam to escape before the shell explodes.

Have you noticed that preparing and enjoying popcorn is a sensory experience? Hear the sound of the corn in the popcorn maker or sauce pan, see the kernels popping, smell the aroma in the kitchen spreading throughout the house, and, finally, chew the crunchy and tasty kernels.
