The Brazilian Association for Action for the Rights of Autistic People (Abraça) is a national organization in Brazil dedicated to defending the human rights of autistic individuals. Founded in 2008, Abraça brings together autistic people, human rights activists and family members to promote inclusion and deinstitutionalization.
The Parkinson Association of Rio Grande do Sul (APARS) is a non-profit civil entity from the southernmost state of Brazil dedicated to improving the quality of life of people with Parkinson's Disease, as well as their families. APARS is independent of political, party or religious affiliations and has a charitable and educational character.
The ForAll collection, made up of a specially designed fork, knife and spoon, was developed for people with Parkinson's disease and other conditions that affect the movement of their arms and hands. The initiative aims to improve the autonomy and quality of life of these people, making mealtimes a special time to share the table.
The utensils are the result of a collaboration between Tramontina, the design firm ZON Design and the Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre (UFCSPA). The team conducted extensive research with people with Parkinson’s disease to understand their main difficulties during eating and develop utensils that meet their needs. The result is innovative items that combine assistive technology, attractive design and high quality, setting a new standard for assistive cutlery in the market.
The Beni Set is designed to facilitate organization and predictability, allowing children to plan their daily activities, from simple tasks like eating breakfast and taking a bath, to school activities.
The Beni Set aims to stimulate the learning process and offer a space for artistic and playful creation for children, especially those with specific needs. Inspired by Benício, a boy diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The Versa table has a top that can be opened to organize materials inside and now includes an Activity Board, developed in partnership with ZON Design, which helps children plan their routine. During the development of the product, not only Benício and his mother participated in the process, but also specialists from the Autism Institute (IDA) in Recife/PE. They highlighted the importance of predictability and a visual routine for children and adolescents with ASD.
