Tramontina Green Hydrogen | Innovation and sustainable energy

Innovation that Embraces the Future

Learn about the first Green Hydrogen Logistics and Industrial Hub in Rio Grande do Sul. Clean technology driving the next chapters of our 115-year history.

The Decarbonization Era

In a groundbreaking move for Brazilian industry, Tramontina is taking a decisive step toward the energy transition of its energy mix, one of the central pillars of the global climate agenda. For Tramontina, this is also a strategic choice aligned with ESG principles and the creation of long-term value.

Selected through Public Call for Proposals No. 01/2025 issued by the Government of Rio Grande do Sul and in partnership with BADESUL, the Green Hydrogen Production Hub project is part of the state’s H2V-RS program, which aims to accelerate the decarbonization of Rio Grande do Sul’s economy and strengthen the state’s sustainable energy mix. The Tramontina Green Hydrogen Project is supported by a three-pronged approach that combines cutting-edge technology, logistical efficiency and a commitment to the environment.

1 - Energy from renewable sources

Renewable Energy

The electricity that powers the plant comes from 100% certified renewable sources.

2 - Water source

Sustainable Withdrawal

The small amount of water used comes from rainwater collected on-site.

3 - Gas production

Electrolysis

Water is separated into Hydrogen and Oxygen through high-tech alkaline electrolyzers.

4 - Energy generation

Application

GH2 powers the fuel cells for our fleet of forklifts and indoor trucks, replacing fossil fuels and lead-acid batteries as a power source.

5 - Environment

Zero Waste

The only byproduct of this process is steam.
