More than 200 new items for good hosting will be produced with the aid of artificial intelligence in a facility with the capacity for 46 thousand items/day.

A premium product with the brand’s traditional quality, it goes well with meals at home but is also ideal for tables in bars, hotels and restaurants, serving friends, family and customers with excellence. On May 17, Tramontina officially entered the porcelain segment, to leave the table even more complete. More than 200 new products including plates, cups, saucers, mugs, salad bowls and serving dishes will be added to the century-old company’s portfolio of more than 22 thousand items.

“Being a good host and receiving guests with care is a quality of those who take pleasure in doing things well. Tramontina has carried this in its DNA for more than a century. With the new porcelain line, the company is now thinking about the details to further help the public prepare the ambience and make every moment unique,” says Rosane Mesturini Fantinelli, Corporate Marketing Director.

Beautiful, strong and versatile, Tramontina Porcelain came about through market research starting in 2014. Since then, the brand has rolled out efforts to produce in- house and stamp its name on sets known as white tableware, made of noble material. “The segment has few manufacturers in Brazil, so there is ample demand today not absorbed by the existing supply. We see a great opportunity there, especially for high-volume markets such as hotels and restaurants,” says Tramontina’s CEO, Rui Baldasso.

The factory with production capacity for 46,000 items per day uses artificial intelligence and robotization to ensure greater efficiency and productivity. The machines in the forming phase determine the best arrangement of items in the kilns, which are loaded and unloaded based on a pre-established logic, preserving the thermal stability of the equipment. The feeding system for the glazing phase is pre-sized according to the characteristics of each product. Moreover, the use of power, compressed air, gas and water is monitored remotely and can also be adjusted remotely.

The new facility is located in the Industrial District of Moreno, a city in the Metropolitan Region of Recife, in an area spanning 54,318.51 m². It puts the state on the map of table porcelain manufacturing in Brazil, traditionally concentrated in the southern and southeastern regions of the country. The work began in 2018 with Finep and BNB (Banco Nacional do Nordeste) as its main supporters. Initially, it has over 300 direct employees, in addition to indirect workers.

This is not the company’s first facility in the northeastern state. There is also the Tramontina Delta unit, founded in 1998 for manufacturing injection-molded and rotomolded plastic furniture.
