When you think of recipes on the charcoal grill, tender, juicy meat might be the first thing that comes to mind. But with the TCP 400 charcoal grill, another delicious possibility arises: PIZZA!  Yes, it is possible to have the best of both worlds with Tramontina. Did your mouth water? So come with us and learn this margherita pizza recipe to prepare on your charcoal grill.

For the dough:
500 g flour
300 ml of warm water
10 g dry yeast
tablespoon of olive oil
teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon sugar

For the topping:
200 g of tomato sauce
250 g grated mozzarella
Fresh basil leaves
Olive oil to taste
Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation method:


Preparing the dough:
 In a bowl, mix the warm water, sugar and yeast. Let it rest for 5 minutes.
Add the flour and salt, mix well and finally add the olive oil.
Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth. Let it rest for 1 hour, covered with a cloth, until it doubles in volume.

Preparing the charcoal grill:
Preheat the charcoal grill to medium temperature. If using charcoal, keep it burning.

Rolling the dough out:
After the dough has rested, divide it into 2 to 4 portions. 
Roll the dough out into a disc shape with a rolling pin, leaving it of medium thickness.

Preparing the pizza:
Place the dough disk on the pizza stone on the charcoal grill.
Spread the tomato sauce, add the mozzarella, basil leaves, olive oil, salt and pepper to taste.

Grilling the pizza:
Close the charcoal grill lid and cook for about 8 to 12 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted.


Remove the pizza from the charcoal grill, add more basil leaves if desired, cut into slices and serve hot.
